Visa can be categorized in different types on the basis of validity and purpose of the trip. Usually, a uniform type of visa; the Schengen visa is issued for tourist, business and private visits. One may also need transit visa for airport transit. Berlin Visa can be offered free of charge for the spouses and children of EU nationals if they could provide spouse’s passport and the original marriage certificate.
Visa period can not be extended here and each time new application is mandatory. One can apply to consulate or consular section at Embassy for getting the visa. Sometime due to high volume of application number system can be used in the Embassy and only the first one hundred applications can be seen in one day.
Passport to Berlin is also necessary along with application form. Some other requirements with the application form are passport size photo, Proof of adequate means of support during stay (eg bank statement or travellers cheques), Proof of health insurance, If travelling for business purposes, a letter from employer, or official invitation from overseas business associate explaining nature and duration of stay, If self-employed, a letter from a solicitor, accountant, bank manager or local Chamber of Commerce and so on.
